It is as little or as much as you want it to be. Its modifications lower the intensity of the workout. If you would like it, chair yoga can be a part of your practice. Everything is designed to reduce the strain on your body. Lessening strain does not mean lessening benefits. The graceful and deliberate postures (Asanas) will strengthen and tone your entire body. The breathing exercises (Pranayama) will deepen your practice and bring stillness and calm. Class ends with a period of deep relaxation.
Restorative Yoga- WE work hard in our lives, while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Our class is based on teachings of deep relaxation designed to benefit all of the organ systems of the body.
Bring yoga mat and water; we will add lots of little and big props, items that can be easily found at home. As Yoga Journal says, "This is what yoga is all about: stilling our fidgety bodies and calming our rambling minds so that we may rest quietly in the present moment. . . |
